Jalen Hurts Is A Better Man Than Me

Imagine if you’re Jalen Hurts for a second… You led Alabama to the National Championship game only to have a freshman quarterback take your shine in the second half, and still, ESPN wants to interview you after the game. Instead of giving some bullshit answers, Hurts steps up to the mic and delivers the kind of speech you’d expect from a player who had a large hand in winning the National Championship. It’s truly impressive. Hurts deserves all of the credit in the world for that kind of speech.

People will do the clickbait bullshit about ‘Kids should watch this to see how to handle adversity.’ Truth be told, none of us would know how to be in that moment. He felt genuinely happy about being a national champion. At the end of the day, he is responsible for 98 percent of Alabama’s success from a quarterback perspective and Tua Tagovailoa gets a big two percent piece of the pie.
Hurts will probably play elsewhere next year. It’s hard to think that Tua will go back to the bench. He seems like a real talent, and that could maybe mean a fun reunion with Hurts and his former offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin at Florida Atlantic?
