Javy Baez is Scared of Brewers in October

Javy Baez might be the Most Valuable Player in the National League. It’s going to be a tight race with Christian Yelich, Freddie Freeman, Trevor Story, Lorenzo Cain and others having legitimate claims to the title. Baez had a tough series against the Milwaukee Brewers. He didn’t have much of an impact and struck out five times including twice against Josh Hader. Baez told the Chicago media that he does not want to play the Brewers in the playoffs. This tells me that Javy and the Cubs are scared of Milwaukee. Suddenly, this team that wasn’t considered a rival has the attention of their neighbors from the South.
Baez on the Brewers…"Hopefully we don't have to face them in the playoffs"

That’s not what you want to hear from your star player. The Brewers clearly wore this team down over the past two weeks. Brewers won four of the six games, and they made up four games in the National League Central. They’ve won 11 of their last 14 games. It’s clear they’re playing like the best team in the National League. Baez knows that the Brewers pose the greatest challenge to Chicago for getting back to the World Series. Still, the Chicago media will take this quote and go bananas with it today on a slow news day before the NFL Week 2 chatter gets started on Friday. That adds another layer to already difficult September for Chicago.
Cubs head to Washington today to make up the game on Sunday. If they lose, Milwaukee heads to a half game back
