Jim Nantz Doesn’t Know About Memes

Final Four happened on Saturday evening with two games that were okay. We had Michigan come back against the Cinderella Loyola Chicago to win the game with ease thanks to a huge game from Moritz Wagner. Villanova blew out Kansas, but they did it by shooting absolutely lights out from the field. The biggest moment of the two games was Jim Nantz not knowing how to say the word ‘meme’. I happened to have the game on as I flipped between Brewers-Padres and the blowout and heard it live. Nantz calling it a ‘me me’ had me completely shook up.
Oh no Jim Nantz, what is you doin? “Me Me” pic.twitter.com/ExqsyH2J7G

Here’s what I think happened to lead us to a ‘me me’ situation for the long-time CBS broadcaster. Nantz made a reference to a meme at some point in the last six months. It could have been during an NFL game or a PGA event, but he said it in the way he did on the broadcast. No one wanted to tell him he was wrong and let Nantz believe that’s how the word is pronounced. You have to think he’s mad in the hotel room tonight. It was a near perfect performance except for the talk about ‘me me’s.’ Not great, Jim!
