Joey Hauser Takes Marquette To Another Level
Marquette Golden Eagles and Wisconsin Badgers along with Michigan State have been chasing five-star 2018 recruit Joey Hauser. The last name is obviously familiar as he’s Sam’s younger brother. Joey wasn’t completely locked into Marquette amid what others had thought about him. He played out the process before coming the decision of going to play with his older brother at Marquette adding a huge element to an already talented Golden Eagles roster.
For those who haven’t followed along with Joey’s high school career, he’s a beast all over the court. Hauser is very athletic who can do it from the inside and outside. He’s 6’8 and plays the power forward position while shooting around 40 percent during the summer AAU circuit. The thing to love about Joey’s game is he finds ways to get buckets on a regular basis. He can fill it up, and that has to excite Marquette who became a prolific offense last season.
Marquette might have some growing pains again this season as their roster gets younger yet 2018-2019 could be absolutely special. They already had a decently loaded and experienced team for the 2018 campaign without Joey. Now add him to the mix? Woo boy. If this team plays over their head this season, they could be on the type of run we saw when Buzz Williams had the program. Steve Wojciechowski is building a monster and it’s going to be on full display in two years.
We’ll talk more about salty Badgers fans tomorrow, but this is a big blow for Wisconsin. They thought the younger brother could be swayed and pushed the chips all in on him for the 2018 recruiting class. It didn’t happen for Greg Gard and company. Badgers will find other talent, but you have to think Hauser’s game would have fit what Wisconsin does to a T. I have to imagine that most Wisconsin fans know this and that’s where the anger is setting in on social media.
Golden Eagles get their 2018 recruiting campaign started with a bang.
