Kirk Cousins’ No Fans Comment Opens Up The Jokes

Kirk Cousins is one of my favorite quarterbacks. Truth be told, I loved him in college. I thought he was great for Michigan State and honestly cannot believe he isn’t an elite quarterback. But the reason he is my favorite now is his innate ability to eat the trash because Cousins is a wholesome dude. Like he is the guy that goes to church every Sunday, supports local shops, would never be caught dead at a strip club, etc. So I love nothing more than Cousins eating the trash. Yesterday, he said that if the NFL went on without fans that it could be ‘refreshing.’

Now, you hear that and snicker a little bit, right? Cousins is a controversial quarterback. Some Vikings fans love him. Some hate him. He gets paid too much money, and Minnesota did the laughable thing adding two more years on his deal. Cousins is an average quarterback that gets paid like an elite one. Hearing this comment out of context makes you chuckle because he would be a quarterback that would love no fans. Others in that mix are Mitch Trubisky, Derek Carr, Jared Goff, and Baker Mayfield on a bad day.
But if you read Cousins’ comments in full context, they make more sense. He basically says that it would be different and interesting to see if players were able to succeed without all the pomp and circumstance. Could it be one big practice? Or does the game still have the same fire without all the noise?
If the NFL does go without fans, it will be fascinating to watch to say the least.
Charlie.
