Lions Already Having Issues with Patricia

One of the things that I’m going to try to do on the blog more often is report on what’s happening inside the Packers division for blog posts. It’s not an every day thing, but if something peaks my interest, we’ll write about it. Case in point, the Detroit Lions and Matt Patricia. In one of the biggest surprises of Week 1, the Lions were embarrassed with a 48-17 drubbing by the New York Jets at home on Monday Night Football. The rumors are out already that Detroit’s veterans had issues with how Patricia ran training camp and basically worked them to the core. It sounds a little like an excuse, but Detroit having dysfunction is never a bad thing.

This is not a good sign for the Lions or Patricia. They head to San Francisco for Week 2, and honestly, that’s not a good place to be with the Niners needing a win to avoid 0-2. The next two home games for Detroit are another primetime affair against New England in Week 3, and Green Bay in Week 5. They play Dallas in-between, and that might be their easiest game in the first five weeks of the season. You don’t want to overreact in Week 1, but when players are tired of your shit in mid-September, woo boy, is that a bad sign or what?
Also, how many times are people going to hire New England assistants and realize it doesn’t work in their place of business? It’s the same shit, different team every time out.
Charlie.
