Marquette Returns To Tourney at 10 Seed

It’s good to be back. Marquette Golden Eagles didn’t have to sweat out the announcement as their name announced in the first bracket as they will play Seven seed South Carolina. Marquette returns to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2013. March Madness has been a fun time for Golden Eagles in the years they’ve been there with trips to the Sweet 16 and one Elite Eight trip. We’ve seen 10 seeds in the past make some noise and advance to the second weekend of the tournament. It will not be easy for Golden Eagles.
South Carolina is really good on defense. Like one of the best in the country. They rank third in overall defense and hold teams to 30 percent shooting from three. Cracked Sidewalks is a must follow for Marquette fans, but he provided that knowledge right after the win. South Carolina struggled down the stretch though losing six of their last nine games with their wins not being that inspiring beating Tennessee and Mississippi State. Gamecocks are beatable. What also helps is both teams have zero tournament experience, therefore, that’s non-factor. The fact the game is in Greenville, South Carolina, is a little shitty but whatever.
If Marquette were to win, they’ll likely play Duke in a media matchup for the ages pitting Coach K against his former assistant Steve Wojciehowski. It would easily be the primetime game of Sunday’s slate, and boy, it would be an interesting one. Marquette’s defense versus Duke’s offense is not something I think I would like.
