Geronimo Allison’s oft-injured 2018 season comes to an official close likely yesterday. He is having surgery to repair an injury to his groin. He could return in six weeks as an IR-designation in-season, but who knows if Green Bay would chose to use it on him. This busts the door wide open for the arrival of Marquez Valdes-Scantling, the rookie who burst on the scene in the last few weeks. He will be the starter out the outside, and a great deep threat to Aaron Rodgers.

One of the many complaints with the offense was the lack of Valdes-Scantling’s targets in the first half of the Packers-Patriots game. Aaron Rodgers ended up going to him often in the second half. Trust me, he could have a huge game on Sunday. Miami has one talented cornerback in Xavien Howard. He’s a good player, but the time he’ll spent will be on Davante Adams. Again, another door opens for a huge MVS game at Lambeau this weekend. I would not be surprised if he has a big game on Sunday.

For Rodgers, this has to be a dream. Green Bay has never had that one receiver who looks and spreads the feel like a Randy Moss prototype. There’s always that hope if Green Bay could get a big, physical receiver they might impose their will on teams (This is before the great offensive drought of 2018). They’ve never had this type of receiver. It shows you how funny the NFL Draft really is when looking at the three receivers drafted by the Packers. Their highest pick, J’Mon Moore, barely plays (Still think he’s good fyi), Valdes-Scantling could break out and Equanimeous St. Brown showed flashes all year. But Valdes-Scantling is the premier receiver out of that rookie class.

I’m ready for a big second half of the season from MVS and others to push the Packers into a division/playoff race.
