To be the best, you have to beat the best. Ric Flair said that once. It is a statement that holds true throughout life and in sports. Right now, the Milwaukee Bucks are the best team in basketball. This means that opposing teams are going to give them their best game ever. Phoenix Suns beat the Milwaukee Bucks for the second time this season. They’re the only team who has done that this year. Phoenix has only won 17 games yet two of them are against the Bucks. Every great team has a shitty team who is their foil. This is a Golden State moment for Bucks, and you know what? That’s kind of cool.

Bucks are good enough now where they’re getting everyone’s best game. That’s awesome. Is it a wake up call for Milwaukee? You bet your ass. But the fact Milwaukee’s professional basketball team is good enough to get the kitchen sink thrown at them is awesome. The team we all cheer for is that fucking good that the opposing team and their fans want to beat us. Bucks are not seen as villains yet by the rest of the league because Giannis is a lovable creature, and Milwaukee hasn’t won enough. But if they keep winning, it’s going to change, no matter how many people like Giannis across the country.

It’s terrifying in a sense too because any night a team can beat Milwaukee. They need to be aware of that and come to play every night the rest of the way this season. If they open a door like they did for both Phoenix and Utah in the final quarter, they’re going to lose the game. They’ve flirted with it all year, and finally, these teams have taken their game to a next level to show how badly they want to beat these fucking guys.
