NFL Picks Week 5: Happy Hour Picks Edition

Top Three of the Week
Cincinnati (2-2) (-2) at Dallas (3-1) 3:25 pm CBS – I do like what Dallas has done so far this season. Zeke Elliott could continue his hot streak with less than stellar Cincinnati pass rush. Andy Dalton returns home, and he gets a Dallas secondary ready to be exposed. They haven’t faced a real quarterback since Eli, and he could have a massive day with A.J. Green again. I like Bengals in this one. CIN 27-17
Atlanta (3-1) at Denver (4-0) (-4.5) 3:05 pm FOX – Lots of love for Matt Ryan and Falcons after their Week 4 domination, but they get a real test with Denver. Broncos pass rush is going to give Ryan all sorts of troubles. I don’t care who’s at quarterback versus that defense. Broncos are going to roll in this one. DEN 24-10
Houston (3-1) at Minnesota (4-0) (-7) 12:00 pm CBS – Brock Osweiler did not do well against his first good defense, and now, he gets the toughest defense. But who is going to play offense for Minnesota? Stefon Diggs is a game-time decision, and there have the obvious injuries already. Could Texans pull off the upset? I’m not confident in Brock’s abilities. It feels like a four INT game with one getting taken back for a touchdown. MINN 17-7
Packers Preview
New York Giants (2-2) at Green Bay (2-1) (-7) 7:30 pm NBC
Lock It Up
New England (3-1) (-10.5) at Cleveland 12:00 pm CBS – There are all these stats about how Cleveland hung with New England in the past couple of times they have played, but the fact is those games weren’t the first game back from the Tom Brady Fuck You Roger Goodell Tour. This is going to be a bloodbath with a huge game from Brady. NE 38-14
Philadelphia (3-0) (-3.5) at Detroit 12:00 pm FOX – Not every week we’ll have two picks of the week, but I can’t help myself here. Carson Wentz against a weak Lions secondary is a good thing. Jim Schwartz getting a little revenge on his old team is a good thing. The fact Matthew Stafford is the only guy left on that offense is a good thing. Lock it up for the Eagles! PHI 30-17
The rest of em
Chicago (1-3) at Indianapolis (1-3) (-4.5) 12:00 pm FOX – It’s hard to believe Indianapolis elected to play the week after a London game. They are the first team to do it. Chicago looked okay last week, and their defense put enough pressure on Matthew Stafford to make me think they can do the same to Andrew Luck. We could see an FU game from Luck, but I’m doubting they have enough parts to get it done. Chicago gets their second straight win, and Chuck Pagano is fired on Monday. CHI 23-20
Tennessee (1-3) at Miami (1-3) (-3.5) 12:00 pm CBS – So far, teams are 3-0 coming off a Thursday night loss. and they’ve looked much better after the 10 days off. Dolphins are really bad though. DeMarco Murray could have another huge game with the weak Dolphins rush defense and could allow Tennessee to control the clock. Jarvis Landry is the difference maker in this one though. He will give Tennessee’s slow defense fits and makes some big plays that prove to be the difference. MIA 24-17
Washington (2-2) at Baltimore (3-1) (-3.5) 12:00 pm FOX – Don’t know where to go with this one… Baltimore found a way to lose to Oakland which shouldn’t have happened but they looked more like 2015 Baltimore then this new version. Terrence West could have another big day versus the weak Skins rush defense. I’m not high on Washington either who let Cleveland sneak back into their game last season. Kirk Cousins has looked better in recent weeks and could do some things against Baltimore’s secondary. Look for DeSean Jackson to have a big game. Baltimore wins and don’t cover. BALT 24-23
New York Jets (1-3) at Pittsburgh (3-1) (-7) 12:00 pm CBS – This could be real ugly for Jets. No Eric Decker, Darrelle Revis might not play and Matt Forte is banged up, that’s not good. Especially not good when playing the high-powered Steelers. Remember how badly the Jets got burned on big plays by really all four teams they’ve played this year? That’s not a good thing when playing Pittsburgh, the high-powered masters. I love Pittsburgh in this one. PITT 31-14
Buffalo (2-2) at Los Angeles (3-1) (-1) 3:25 pm CBS – This could be one of the more physical games of the weekend with two bruising defenses. Bills figured some shit in the last two weeks with riding LeSean McCoy although he has a bum hand now. Los Angeles defense has come together and looks like the real deal. Although I do think Rams over-aggressive nature could haunt them versus a mobile quarterback like Taylor. Case Keenum keeps winning with this offense, and he seems to be getting more comfortable back there. Can’t believe we’ll be talking about the 4-1 Rams in a close defensive battle. LA 16-13
San Diego (1-3) at Oakland (3-1) (-3.5) 3:25 pm CBS – This game could be high scoring and awesome. San Diego could be 4-0 which should worry Raiders fans, but they’re missing Jason Verrett which could mean a big day for Amari Cooper/Michael Crabtree. I do think this could be a trap game for Oakland, but I’m not picking Chargers with all of their injuries. Raiders hold on with a furious Phil Rivers come back. OAK 30-28
MNF: Tampa Bay (1-3) at Carolina (1-3) (PK) 7:30 pm ESPN – We don’t know if Cam Newton is going to play in this game. That’s a huge question to decide what might happened in this one. Jameis Winston will try to duplicate what Matt Ryan did with Mike Evans being their Julio Jones. Charles Sims might miss the game for Tampa, and their defensive line is in rough shape. I’m taking Carolina as a ‘No way they go 1-4’ pick but I don’t feel good about it. CAR 21-17
