Northern Kentucky Ends Milwaukee’s Cinderella Run

Milwaukee Panthers had a date with destiny on Tuesday night. If they advance, it would be the first time a team went to tournament with 20 plus losses. The hot takes would have been excellent. Alas, Panthers fell short with Northern Kentucky beating UWM by six points in a competitive basketball game, but the Horizon League title belongs to the Norse who are going to their first ever NCAA Tournament appearance.
Lavone Holland II led the way with 24 points. He played great out there and carried Northern Kentucky to victory. Milwaukee has nothing to be ashamed of though. No one expected with how putrid their February was that they would be in the Horizon League final for the right to go to the Big Dance. Cody Wichmann not being able to get going until the final minutes of the game played into a large part as to why it’s Northern Kentucky evening.
Norse for a team from Northern Kentucky feels weird. Like what kind of vikings like in Northern Kentucky? A team named the Norse should be somewhere close to Canada.
