Northwestern Beats The Buzzer & Probably Dancing

In one of the more dramatic games you’ll see in college basketball, Northwestern Wildcats caught a baseball pass for a layup and win over Michigan. Many pundits are saying the 10-win Wildcats are in the NCAA Tournament. No questions asked, they’re a lock to play in the tournament for the first time in their school’s history. It’s an amazing accomplishment. And for it to happen this way is really a sight to see. Chris Collins, former Duke assistant, has done a wonderful job with this program.

This game mattered so much to the Wildcats faithful with Northwestern needing a win to cure any sort of bubble talk. Michigan is one of the hotter teams in the country coming in, and Cats were able to silence them at the very end. This game was an absolute slobber knocker. It finished with Nathan Trehorn making the cross-court pass to Dererk Pardon for the game-winning layup and 10 wins officially secured.
Northwestern will finish the year at home versus Purdue on CBS. I cannot remember the last time a Northwestern game, any type – home or away, was on national television. Amazing story.
