Notre Dame’s Yankees-Inspired Jerseys are Offensive

Since we’ve transitioned to a more local-based sports blog, I don’t do jersey grades as much if at all. Every now and again, I see something and I have to say something. Case in point, the Notre Dame Yankee jerseys that were unveiled today for the Fighting Irish’s game at new Yankee Stadium when they’ll play Army. I cannot begin to tell you how bad these jerseys look. It’s a total swing and a miss from the teams of Under Armour, Notre Dame and the New York Yankees.

If you wanted to do something Yankees-inspired, why not have a pinstripes inside the numbers? It would be hard to read likely, but isn’t that a subtle homage to the Yankees versus putting them all over the fucking sleeves. I mean these are grosser than finding a bunch of clipped toenails sitting out. It’s not even the two teams coming together, it’s how bad it looks aesthetically. If Tan from Queer Eye saw these jerseys, he might puke in his mouth (Million dollar idea is to have sports jerseys reviews with Tan. If someone steals this, remember where you heard it first).
Also, there’s the whole Notre Dame fan plus a Yankees fan which is 2/5 of the way to making this a TrillBallins’ jersey. All you would need is add some Lakers colors, Kentucky blue, a Drake song and you’d be good.
