PackCap: Officials Cost Packers Half a Victory

We’re not a ‘blame the officials’ type blog, but Jesus Christ. This was pathetic. One of the worst officiated games I can remember since the Fail Mary days. So many things that happened in the Packers-Vikings game had to do with the officials missing a call or inconsintely call something. I never want to fucking hear from Vikings fans that the ‘Packers get all the calls.’ Because that didn’t happen today. It’s too bad that the striped humans decided to make themselves the headline of what was a fantastic football game. Packers-Vikings delivered again, and it’s one of the best rivalry in the National Football League. It’s the first time Green Bay has not beat Minnesota in three straight games since 2008-2009.
There were some things to like from this Packers game though. Offense looked pretty good with Aaron Rodgers battling through an injury and throwing for 280 with a couple touchdowns. He found Davante Adams, Geronimo Allison and Jimmy Graham five plus times. Graham became a big part of this offense on Sunday, and that’s an encouraging thing moving forward for the Packers. Jamaal Williams looked alright and did more than I expected versus the tough Minnesota rushing attack. That said, I feel Aaron Jones might be better in the shotgun-first offense.
I’m not selling anything on the defense. They played well today. Those who think they didn’t are missing a couple things here. Number one, Davon House got burned badly for one of the touchdowns. That’s the biggest play of the game without question. House cannot be on the field for this football team. The other one is Jaire Alexander picked off a pass, and the game should have been over. Instead, Kirk Cousins added 145 yards with a touchdown. Stupid.
