Packers 24 Bears 14: Death, Taxes, & Packers Beating The Bears

“I still own you.” One of the best quotes that was ever uttered by a Green Bay Packers player during a game. Aaron Rodgers said that to a group of Chicago Bears in the stand as he scores the touchdown to put the Packers up by 10 points. After the game, Rodgers said the reason he did it was some lady in the stands gave him the double bird. He didn’t appreciate that too much and went off. Good for him. The Bears fans know that Rodgers has been their daddy for quite some time, and Sunday didn’t change that. Justin Fields had moments, but the Packers adjusted when they needed to. Here’s the review from yesterday. As you can imagine, I had some fun with the commentary from Aaron Rodgers.

What I love about the Packers this season is they’re winning blue-collar-type games. They are not the flashiest bunch in the NFL despite having some of the best offensive players in football. They’re getting it done by finding themselves in the mud and having to grind it out. That will only help when we get to January and things get tough. Green Bay does need to get off to a better start though. That cannot keep happening. Some team will be 14-0 on Green Bay before you know it.
Green Bay has now won five straight games and is lumped in with Dallas, Los Angeles, and Tampa Bay as the only one-loss teams then Arizona is on top as the only unbeaten. Washington is up next in a very sneaky game. Green Bay has this one before a big, big game against Arizona on Thursday. It would be very easy to look ahead and not take Washington seriously. Let’s hope that isn’t the case.
