Packers Add Two Interesting Talents to Fill Out Roster
Green Bay Packers have their 90-man roster for Training Camp. Things could change leading up to July, but Green Bay added two more players that they would like to get longer looks at this summer into the fall. Both carry some interesting attributes and could potentially add to the team. Now, you never want to stake a claim that either of these players will be starters on the roster, but both guys have some flash to them. Packers added corner Chandon Sullivan from Philadelphia & rookie wide receiver Darrius Shepherd from North Dakota State. Packers continue to find freak athletes who can potentially make an impact next year.
Chandon Sullivan played for the Philadelphia Eagles last season. He played mostly on special teams but did do a few things on the field last season. Sullivan is another solid athlete to add for the Packers along with having some true smarts to him as he was finalist for an Academic award in college. Philadelphia Eagles liked what they saw from him in the preseason, but it did not exactly carry over in the regular season. He is pretty young, 22 years old, and is worth a gander for the Packers. He will have stiff competition to make the roster with the likes of Tony Brown, Ka’Darr Hamilton and a host of undrafted free agents trying to make the last corner spot.
If Sullivan’s chances to make the roster are difficult, Darrius Shepherd’s could be close to impossible. Green Bay is already loaded at the wide receiver position and does not need another one yet they liked what Shepherd showed at rookie camp. Ross Uglem, CheesheadTV contributer, also does work for NDSU and broke down how Shepherd is a dynamic punt returner. He also showed some ability to do jet sweep action which is something Green Bay does not have out of their receivers. He has an interesting combination of talents that might give him in a leg up on the competition, but as mentioned, it will not be easy.
