Packers Can Survive Without Mike Daniels

Green Bay Packers had a bad Sunday. They didn’t play, but there were news of the negative all over the place. Mike Daniels will be missed for the next couple of weeks with a foot injury. They do not have a timetable for Daniels injury, but he will definitely be out this week against Minnesota. That’s a huge loss for the Packers. Daniels holds the defensive line together, but Green Bay does have some depth in this position. The former Iowa standout is a space eater, but Packers do have some talent that can carry load for them.
Even though he’s a starter, the expectations for Dean Lowry will rise significantly. Lowry is going to have to be a Daniels-like player for the Packers in the next couple of weeks. We’ve seen him get off the ball and get to the quarterback yet he isn’t the run-stopper that Daniels can be for Green Bay. Former third round pick Montravious Adams will get his moment to step up for the Packers. Adams hasn’t been a great pick for Green Bay, but he flashed at different points of this season. Minnesota will likely try to pound Adams’ side early in the game. Another guy to keep an eye on for the Packers is Tyler Lancaster. He plays more of the nose to give Kenny Clark a breather, but don’t be surprised if Green Bay uses Lancaster in Daniels’ spot on occasion. Lancaster isn’t a typical nose with weight at 313. Lancaster flashes every now and again in a game.
It goes without saying that Clark will need to be the man even more than how he’s been playing this year. The former first round pick is an All-Pro and a Pro Bowler this season, therefore, the task shouldn’t be too big for him inside to replace Daniels.
Yes, Green Bay is up against it with Daniels out, but they have enough bodies who can make plays in his place.
