Packers Excitement Meter: Kyler Fackrell, Defensive Stud

Green Bay Packers suffered arguably the toughest loss of the season yesterday losing to Seattle, 27-24. Packers were leading the whole game until the final five minutes when Russell Wilson snatched the game away in the waning moments to give Seattle the victory. This one hurts and doesn’t feel good the next day. Granted, there were a few players that stood one in this one including Kyler Fackrell… HUH?! Yes, it’s true, Fackrell had himself a game and announced to the world that he can be an every down player.
Category Five Excited: Kyler Fackrell – If you believed in Kyler Fackrell, you’re a goddamn liar. No one believed in him. Many people including me where calling for him to get released at training camp. Fackrell proved everyone wrong and is flourishing on the other side of Clay Matthews. What changed? Is it that he always had these skills and never put it together? It could be. Fackrell outperformed Nick Perry in one start which says a lot about Perry’s season, but the former Utah State product should be the starter moving forward.
Category Four Excited: Davante Adams – What a night from Tae. If you did not believe that Adams is a top five wide receiver in the league, you should now. He had an amazing game for the Packers. Adams finished with 10 catches for 166 yards. Somehow, Tae did not get a touchdown grab. He continues to ball out for the Packers. He has some of the best hands and moves in football. Watching Adams work is a thing of beauty.
Category Three Excited: Aaron Jones – Loved what I saw from Jones again this week, but Mike McCarthy decided to use him sparingly in the second half. The usage of Jones might be the biggest reason why Mac will be looking for work on Dec 31st. Jones touched the ball six times in the second half. That cannot happen. He is way too dynamic of a player to give him the ball less than six times in a tight game down the stretch. Packers, McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers got too caught up in the passing game.
Category Two Excited: Tony Brown – Here’s the thing about Brown, he didn’t have a great game, but there are some flashes of a good player. That’s not surprising. He was a five-star recruit in high school, went to Alabama and played decent for them. Brown is a shithead who drew ire by Nick Saban, yet, the guy can play football. He made a few errors and probably shouldn’t be playing regular snaps as a professional. That said, there is talent there for Brown and think the best is yet to come with him.
Category One Excited: Mike McCarthy – Man oh man, he sucked last night. I’m not a big McCarthy fan in general, but this was his opus of why he shouldn’t have a job next season with the team. There were so many bad calls. We already touched on the whole Jones fiasco. He had the gutless decision to punt on 4th and 2. The guy is too conservative for today’s NFL.
