Packers Having Eyes on Hoyer Isn’t A Big Deal

Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brian Hoyer signed with the New England Patriots yesterday. He inked a three-year deal that will have him backup Tom Brady for the foreseeable future. Everyone expected this to happen, but what no one saw coming was the Green Bay Packers looking into him. This surprised some people yesterday, but in reality, the Packers were doing their usual due diligence. This should not really make anyone push the panic button on Brett Hundley, but people are going to rush to potentially getting another quarterback.
The fact of the matter is Green Bay knows that if Hundley gets popped and misses a game, Joe Callahan will be the quarterback. That’s not going to win you football games. I know people like what Callahan brings to the table, but he’s not a starting quarterback in the National Football League. Some people wanted to loop in the whole thing about Colin Kaepernick which is getting so tiring at this point. Can we fucking have some common sense here? A phone call or a sniff is far different than a visit. Packers general manager Ted Thompson does this with a lot of players, and Hoyer was not any different.
Packers still believe in Hundley. They were right to take a look at an established quarterback who has some starting experience in the National Football League.
Charlie.
