Packers Could Finally Land in London

National Football League teams have been making the trek out to London, England for games in the last couple of years. They’ve wrapped it up for this season, and the games were not very great. That said, they still brought multiple games overseas, and the NFL still has a Raiders-Patriots game in Mexico later this season. Another public team might be joining the London mix next season with the Green Bay Packers being possibly rumored as a team to head overseas. This should happen but it could be difficult to pull off.
Green Bay is one of the biggest teams in the National Football League. You don’t need me to tell you that, but this helps continue the growth of football overseas. To me, this would be a very hard ticket in London. It would be great to see what Packers alumni ended up over there with the team. But the question is which team will be the one to give up a home game where the road team’s fans draw a great gate.
We already know that the NFL would not take a game away from Lambeau Field. There shouldn’t be a division game overseas like we saw with the Rams-Cardinals earlier this month. Packers have a high-profile road schedule playing at New England, New York, an NFC East opponent (Probably Washington/Dallas) and Seattle. The only one that makes sense is Los Angeles. I could see if happening only for the fact that an LA Packers game would result in an 85 percent Packers fans filled stadium. That said, Rams will carry a higher profile likely next season. It’s tough to find when the opportunity presents itself.
We’ll see if the London thing happens. I think it would be really cool, but sacrifice will be needed from some owner.
