Packers Players Continue to Take Shots at Marty B

The Marty B saga with the Green Bay Packers hasn’t exactly died down this week. I assume after this week, people will move on to other things especially in that locker room, but it’s evident that it’s still striking a nerve with players. In the first media session of the game week, Clay Matthews and David Bakhtiari both took shots at Bennett as well as the Packers left tackle defending the team’s doctor.
Asked Clay Matthews about working with Dr. Pat McKenzie. Here’s why he said #Packers laughed at Marty Bennett claim. pic.twitter.com/zeYo8EJVX2

#Packers LT David Bakhtiari said Pat McKenzie wanted to keep him out with hamstring injury until after bye week. So he didn't buy Martellus Bennett's claims against McKenzie. “Flat out, what he’s saying is crap.”

Both of these are important in their own way. First, Matthews is one of the considered ‘faces’ of the team. For him to come out and say something means a lot. Now, we really have every Packers player who is a national face mentioned something about this issue with Aaron Rodgers, Jordy Nelson and now Matthews. Additionally, Bakhtiari holds some weight due to him having an injury this season and showing the players do not feel any type of pressure to get back on the field again. More and more, it’s highlighting the type of person Bennett was in this locker room.
I think the team is happy he’s gone, and if they do win again on Sunday, I think it’s worth discussing whether this unified the team a little bit. But we’ll save that take for next Monday.
Charlie.
