Packers Preseason Game 1 Excitement Meter

Preseason is about trying new things, right? New players, new opportunities, new plays are all possible in preseason. Let’s try something new on SnoTapWI. SnoTap’s Excitement Meter. Basically, we’re going to give you a look at who is driving my excitement levels up on the Packers after each preseason game, and who is not doing their part.
Jim Levenstein Division
Martez-Valdes Scantling – Pick a receiver, any receiver, but Martez is the star of the show tonight. He showed out with five catches, 101 yards and a touchdown. Valdes-Scantling is the first Packers receiver I can remember in a long while that is a jumpball threat who can catch anything. He’s sharp as a route-running and the jumpball ability shows off his offseason training with Randy Moss.
Jessie Spano Division
Oren Brooks – What a night for the rookie linebacker. He played pretty well for the entire time he was in there at middle linebacker. Brooks showed that they’re might not be a need to add a veteran to this linebacker crew. Brooks played well out there with limited mistakes. You have to like him going forward for this team.
Ted Mosby Division
Tim Boyle – Boy, I didn’t expect to see this name pop up here, but here we are. Boyle threw some absolute bombs today resulting in a deep touchdown to Wisconsin’s favorite Jake Kumerow and nearly hit J’Mon Moore with another rocket. Amazing story given he had awful college stats, but the Packers clearly saw something in him to be on the team. He’s showing he belongs out there.
Hannah Horvath Division
Byron Bell – Let’s pretend the Byron Bell experiment at tackle never really happened, and we can all go back to living better lives.
Toby Flenderson Division
Trevor Davis – Did anyone have a worse night by not playing than Trevor Davis? Do you think he’s packing up his bags already and saying bye to everyone. Holy shit, what a night to sit on the bench injured with all of the young receivers playing their best ball. Davis is on the block to being cut.
If you have other pop culture suggestions for the excitement meter, I would love to hear them. My Twitter and Instagram DMs are always open.
