Packers Preseason Game 1: Three Things to Watch

Green Bay Packers preseason gets underway tonight. They will be playing the Tennessee Titans at Lambeau Field. Aaron Rodgers will likely not play, but there will be many others that will be in action. There are many things to watch though. While we probably shouldn’t react from a win or loss perspective, there are still things worth looking at it this evening.
1. The exciting wide receiver race – This is easily number one and why it’s worth watching a little bit of the Packers game this evening. What’s going to come out from the wide receivers? Likely, we are not going to see Davante Adams or Randall Cobb meaning others will get their time to shine. Jake Kumerow will get the most eyeballs for how good he’s been in training camp, but I’m also curious about the rookie receivers plus Trevor Davis. All are fighting for a roster spot.
2. JK Scott revolution – Weirdly, I hope we get a few punts in this game to watch how JK Scott booms punts at Lambeau Field. Scott has been putting on a show in practice, and I do believe he could be a huge factor for this team if the practice translates to game action. If for whatever reason it does not tonight, I’m not ready to overreact either.
3. DeShone Kizer or Brett Hundley – I’m very intrigued to watch both quarterbacks. In the loose depth chart, Kizer was still the number three which means he will likely be the second quarterback up tonight. Green Bay would like to showcase both Kizer and Hundley this August to potentially put them in a trade before the season. THere’s no way they’re keeping both, and I doubt the Packers would want to flat out release the one who loses out.
It might not be worth getting your Packers gear and watching every snap tonight yet there are things to keep an eye on. Can’t wait for the Packers pinheads to overreact tonight.
