Packers Preseason Game 2 Excitement Meter

Another round of the excitement meter for the Green Bay Packers. For those unfamiliar, the excitement meter is something I created last week where we talk about how excited we are about certain players. We choose five from being the most excited to the least excited. We’ll take any and all pop culture references. To make this more interactive for the audience, I’ll have an explainer for why this is being chosen.
Jim from American Pie Division (Think about how excited he got when he saw Nadia)
Reggie Gilbert – Holy m0ly, what a performance from Reggie Gilbert. He showed something special today. It’s like he knew people were talking about Khalil Mack heading to the Packers, and he wanted to remind everyone that they have a stud outside linebacker on the team. Gilbert had 2.5 sacks and forced a fumble. He’s having one of the best camps of any one on the Packers. It’s not crazy to think he couldn’t start besides Clay Matthews even with Nick Perry coming back in the fold.
Jessie Spano Division (Think about the time she took too many caffeine pills)
Josh Jackson – Woo boy. Let’s excited a little bit here. Jackson took a pick-six back where he jumped a route. That’s something Wisconsin Badgers fans saw a couple times last season. He has a knack for the football. People said this out of college, and it’s coming true in the National Football League. Jackson played the slot and on the outside. He’s definitely worth getting excited for in the coming year. I hope this pushes Jaire Alexander too.
Paulie Walnuts Division (Think about how Paulie can be great and annoying all in a same episode)
Jake Kumerow – I feel like we’re already at the peak Kumerow levels. Everyone is excited about him. He’s a fan favorite but keeps doing big things on the field. He caught an 82-yard touchdown pass tonight on a simple out route then took it the rest of the way. He has breakaway speed and a fun player to watch. Kumerow definitely has a case to make the team.
Becca Moody Division (Seriously, she might be worse than Toby, but you get the drift if you watched Californication).
J’Mon Moore – I’m not ready to give up on J’Mon Moore. Feel like a lot of writers, bloggers, tweeters are selling their J’Mon Moore Stock. If you are, I’ll buy low on this guy. We’ve seen this story before, right? James Jones, exceptional athlete, had trouble catching the ball and thrived later in his career. Same goes with Davante Adams. Moore will be fine, but maybe, take it easy on the vertical routes.
Toby Flenderson Division (Think about any time Toby was… Well Toby)
Tackling – Since we didn’t talk about on the podcast, we should chat about tackling. People are mad at the Packers tackling like this isn’t a preseason game. I get that it can translate to regular season games, but it’s fucking ridiculous to worry about something like this at the moment. Let’s have this conversation after week one versus Chicago if it’s an issue. But right now, it’s not a hill worth dying on.
Charlie.
