Green Bay Packers head home after a disappointing trip to Washington DC. It’s fair to say that the entire fanbase is down on the Packers. They’re taken a back seat in Southeastern Wisconsin with the Milwaukee Brewers playing well and fighting for a potential division title. There are many questions about this team starting with Aaron Rodgers and ending with what’s this defense all about? Packers get a young Buffalo Bills team to figure things out. Bills struggled in the first two weeks then shocked the Minnesota Vikings in Week 3. Buffalo wanted the world to know they weren’t going down without a fight. This game is a challenge for Green Bay.

Can the Packers come out firing for once? – One thing we’ve mentioned on the podcast this week and worth talking about here is when is the last time Green Bay came out guns blazing in a game? I cannot remember them starting a first quarter off with a 14-0 or 10-0 lead. It’s been awhile. Mike McCarthy’s approach compared to some of the other teams I’ve watched this year is passive and nowhere near the level of what we see from the great teams. Packers getting off to a fast start on Sunday would be appreciated.

Red Zone defense woes – Last year, Green Bay struggled when an opponent got into the red zone. They would rarely hold teams to field goals. This year, it’s been the same thing. Green Bay cannot seem to stop anyone when they get inside the 20. Josh Allen showed some flashes of talent last week in Minnesota and would expect he comes out with some confidence. It also will help he has Lesean McCoy back as a safety valve and a first option especially deep in the red zone.

Aaron Jones needs the ball – Aaron Rodgers said it on Thursday, and I’ll repeat him. Aaron Jones needs to be out on the football field. McCarthy’s idea of the run-sharing system is not working. Rodgers and everyone else knows that Jones is the dude for this team. Who gives a shit if he cannot pass block? Figure out quicker pass plays or use Jones in the drop-off manner instead of using that as an excuse.

Prediction: Albeit my concerns with this team, I’m rolling with the Packers. Buffalo looked good last week, but that felt like a disrespect game. I don’t think they can show up like that again. I expect to be close for awhile with some nice moments from Allen, but I think we see the defense be the reason that Green Bay pulls away in this one. Green Bay 34-20.
