Packers And Chris Banjo Part Ways

Knile Davis isn’t the only Packers to pack his bags from Eastern Wisconsin. Chris Banjo leaves the team as well as par of an injury settlement.
There are so many roster moves in the season where they really don’t matter and we just move on. This isn’t one of them. Banjo was one of the best players on special teams for the last couple of years, but he could never be a factor on the field when Green Bay was on defense. Banjo’s limited skills as a defensive player left him on the chopping block for an injured reserve designation and now his outright release.
Packers also believe they have something with Kentrell Brice and Marwin Evans especially Brice who has shown some things on defense and special teams this season. Banjo couldn’t stay healthy this season with a bad hamstring injury, and sometimes, a popular player has to leave the team. I don’t think anyone is going to lose sleep over Banjo’s departure, but he was a key cog in the special teams although Ron Zook’s group has been pretty solid throughout the year.
