Packers Trade For Knile Davis

Green Bay Packers General Manager Ted Thompson heard your pleas, Packers fans. He made a deal in the middle of the season to get Knile Davis, a running back from Kansas City Chiefs and former Arkansas Razorback. Davis was not needed in Kansas City after Jamaal Charles returned from injury. Davis is a pass-catching running back, and he’s not the savior by any means to this Packers offense yet he will aid them with Eddie Lacy’s injury especially on Thursday night. Davis fell out of flavor with Kansas City after the 2014 season. He had a decent in year in 14′ with 425 yards rushing and 147 receiving. Davis does return kicks, and my assumption would be that continues in Green Bay. Davis hasn’t been stellar in Kansas City, but it’s worth a shot on Green Bay’s end.
Davis will have to learn maybe a fifth of the playbook by Thursday because I’m sure he will get some snaps at tailback. Thompson will now look if he can a cornerback. ESPN’s Bill Barnwell suggested bringing Tramon Williams back to Green Bay, and while I would love it, I’m concerned he’s not the same player anymore.
