Randall Cobb’s Ankle Injury Isn’t Concerning

News came out on Monday morning that Randall Cobb has an ankle injury and could miss the start of Training Camp. People launched the sirens because Green Bay does not have a wealth in veteran receivers. Missing the start of Training Camp is a vague statement at best. It’s not like Cobb is out for multiple weeks of Training Camp with this injury In fact if Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reporter Michael Cohen does not spot him in the airepoint, we likely do not know this story about Cobb’s ankle. I’m choosing to worry very little about this injury.
Here’s the thing, this story only becomes important when we’re dealing with a young player. A guy who might not be fully involved into the Packers offense that might post some worries here. You want the players to get on the same page as Aaron Rodgers, so, they’re ready to go for the regular season. I don’t think missing the start of training camp will affect the chemistry between Cobb and Rodgers. Those two work very well together. Even with Rodgers’ layoff from last season, I think these two should be fine.
What this injury does do is give young guns some opportunities to show it. This could be a huge thing for Trevor Davis. He’s going to start training camp on the bubble and will need a great camp to stay on this team. He should get more reps with Cobb out and get that chance to make his mark early on in training camp. If anyone needs to take advantage of this Cobb injury, it’s Davis
Get better soon, Randy.
