Rashan Gary Named 11th Best NFL Player Under 25

Rashan Gary is the next, great superstar for the Green Bay Packers. Gary had a breakout season in his third year with the team. He had 9.5 sacks last season and probably should have made the Pro Bowl. The emergence of Gary led to Green Bay feeling confident enough to jettison Za’Darius Smith. It is not just Green Bay that is confident in its play of Gary. Pro Football Focus named Gary a top 25 player under 25 and Gary came eleventh overall. That is pretty high praise for the big man and shows that people are recognizing his skill.

A couple of things interesting about the list and something that speaks to how much respect Gary is getting at this moment. Here is the list of guys that are ahead of Gary – Nick Bosa, JaMarr Chase, Justin Herbert, Jonathan Taylor, Tristan Wirfs, Micah Parsons, Jeffery Simmons, Justin Jefferson, DK Metcalf, and A.J. Terrell. This is a pretty exclusive company. All of those players mentioned are stars or soon-to-be stars. Those individuals will win big-time awards in the future whether it’s Defensive Player of the Year, MVP, or Offensive Player of the Year.
Remember how many people hated the Rashan Gary pick though? People detested the idea of picking Gary. People thought that Gary never lived up to the hype at Michigan, why should they expect in the pros? While Gary is a workout warrior, he is also very good at football. The Packers worked on fine-tuning his game, and they’ve made him into the animal in the last year. This defensive in 2022 is going to be scary. Teams are not going to know what hit them on the field. This is easily the most exciting Packers defense in the last 20 years or more.
