Rich Get Richer? Brewers Talking with Kimbrel
We are eight days away from Opening Day. That’s a crazy thing to think about honestly considering the Spring Training didn’t feel long at all. For me, I think the Milwaukee Bucks’ success leads me to not paying as close of attention to baseball as I might in years past. That being said, I still know that Craig Kimbrel and Dallas Keuchel are still out there as free agents. Many Brewers fans would think the team would go after Keuchel considering their unknowns at starting pitcher. But it is Kimbrel, the hard-throwing right hander, is who the Brewers have interest in.

There is no deal in place, but Milwaukee is trying to make a terrifying bullpen. Josh Hader-Corey Knebel-Jeremy Jeffress-Kimbrel as a back-in bullpen is absolutely terrifying for opposing teams. Brewers would make it a six-inning baseball game, or they could stagger the guys a little bit. Kimbrel throws complete gas. That is up the Brewers wheelhouse when bringing new guys into the fold. He has been to the All-Star three straight seasons with Boston. He can be an unhittable closer. In 2017, he had 126 strikeouts to only 14 walks and gave up only eleven runs all year. Kimbrel only allowed 20 or more runs once in his entire career, and that was 2014 with 22.
We’ll see if the Brewers can pull the trigger.
Charlie.
