Wisconsin Badgers continue their non-conference schedule by welcoming New Mexico to Camp Randall. This is their first-ever meeting. Nex Mexico will be Wisconsin’s 104th team they’ve played in their school’s history. That’s pretty cool that matchups like this one are still the first ones in 2018. Badgers are heavy favorites as the Lobos do not play much defense, and it could be another big day for the Badgers offense that did not miss a step in Week 1.

Couple Badgers make their debut – Wisconsin will get healthier on Saturday as Isaiahh Loudermilk will return to the defensive line, and Xander Neuville will get the go at tight end. Neuville and Loudermilk were supposed to be starters when the depth charts came out earlier this summer, and we’ll see if they get those roles here versus the Lobos. Jake Ferguson played well in Neuville’s absence last week, and Badgers could use the extra help on the defensive line as they continue to rebuild it from last year.

Kevin Cosgrove returns to Madison – For some, this name may sound familiar. For others, you may not know but he coached through the Barry Alvarez era of Wisconsin football. Expect the broadcast to talk about it quite a bit. Cosgrove coached Wisconsin’s defense from 1990-2003. He’s in the Wisconsin Coaches Hall of Fame, but he doesn’t have the same defensive chops that he used in the past. His last name is still a swear word in Nebraska. Wisconsin should have no trouble against the Lobos defense.

Badgers feast on the spread – One of the things that I love about Wisconsin’s defense since Dave Aranda is the ability to be great versus the spread offense. New Mexico is a run-heavy spread team, and that plays into the strengths of the Badgers led by the linebackers. Tevaka Tuioti, Lobos’ quarterback, is the star of the show, but he’s going to have a hell of a time with this front seven of Wisconsin.

Prediction: Wisconsin rolls through New Mexico pretty easily with a dominating 48-10 victory.
