SnoTapWI’s 2018 NFL Predictions

Here we go. The NFL season begins on Thursday when the Philadelphia Eagles and Atlanta Falcons get together for the first game of the season. Cannot wait for the season to start for the National Football League. I’m very intrigued with the Western Conference-like NFC while the AFC is lacking star power besides Tom Brady. Will we keep with the annual tradition of putting the Packers in the Super Bowl? Murph, Mitch and I all weighed in. Mitch and I added some biggest surprises, disappointments as well while Murph & I made Super Bowl picks.
National Football Conference
NFC East – Philadelphia Eagles (Murph, Mitch and Charlie)
NFC North – Green Bay Packers (Murph and Charlie) Minnesota Vikings (Mitch)
NFC South – New Orleans Saints (Murph and Charlie) Atlanta Falcons (Mitch)
NFC West – Los Angeles Rams (Murph, Mitch, Charlie)
NFC Wildcards: Green Bay Packers (Mitch), Minnesota Vikings (Murph), Seattle Seahawks (Murph), Carolina Panthers (Charlie) San Francisco 49ers (Charlie & Mitch)
Biggest Surprises: Matt Ryan lives up to new deal and the Falcons prevail in a crapshoot NFC South with Carolina taking their every-other-year swoon (Mitch). San Francisco will rise above the injuries and find a way to beat the sexy team label (Charlie & Mitch).
Biggest Disappointments: Alex Smith falls apart in Washington. Tampa Bay can’t get out of their own way again this season. The Chicago Bears, the current sexy pick, doesn’t quite meet their peak just yet, I could still see 7 wins though. (Mitch). Dallas finishes dead last in the NFC East and Jason Garrett isn’t coaching on Thanksgiving (Charlie)
American Football Conference
AFC East – New England Patriots (Murph, Mitch, Charlie)
AFC North – Pittsburgh Steelers (Murph, Charlie, Mitch)
AFC South – Houston Texans (Murph) Jacksonville Jaguars (Charlie) Tennessee Titans (Mitch)
AFC West – Denver Broncos (Murph) Los Angeles Chargers (Mitch) Kansas City Chiefs (Charlie)
AFC Wildcards: Jacksonville Jaguars (Murph) Los Angeles Chargers (Murph and Charlie) Houston Texans (Charlie and Mitch) Cincinnati Bengals (Mitch)
AFC Surprises: Cincy will make it with a classic 9-7 record under Marvin Lewis and a somewhat favorable schedule. Houston wins 9 games (or more) with a healthy Deshaun Watson and friends. (Mitch). Browns do not finish last, & Chiefs win the division as Vance Joseph and Anthony Lynn can’t get out of their way (Charlie)
AFC Disappointments: New England makes it by default but we could see the beginning of the end for the GOAT. Oakland can’t recover from tumultuous season and maybe Derek Carr isn’t as good as I’ve pumped him up to be. The supporting cast of the Jags defense gets a year older and Blake Bortles is still their QB. Zero chance the Bills make the postseason for this season at least. (Mitch). Miami will pick first in the 2019 NFL Daft (Charlie)
Super Bowl: Green Bay vs. Jacksonville (Murph) Green Bay vs Los Angeles (Charlie)
Charlie.
