Summerfest’s Ambitious Idea To Rebound From 2020

Summerfest is trying something new in 2021. They’re going to a brand new schedule featuring three weekends over the summer versus eleven days of entertainment. Summerfest is promising more headliners and bigger experience. They’re confident with having three straight weekends booked out, and they’re in the prime of summer. Sure, there are festivals happening all over the country during these weekends too, but Summerfest carries a reputation with a lot of artists from all different genres. Let’s know this that over those three weekends Milwaukee will be a crazy shitshow of fun.
Everything’s better in threes. Introducing…Summerfest 2021 presented by @amfam. June 24-26, July 1-3, and July 8-10.

Will there be some dissenters to this? Absolutely. Parents of young children and the retired crowd are cut out. But you have to think Summerfest thought about this in making their decision. It is likely a small fraction of their audience that attends shows. They know the revenue is in the Gen-Z and millennials who will come night after night. It is much easier to come Thursday through Saturday versus trying to figure out how you’re going out to rage on a random Tuesday. This should draw big crowds especially if Summerfest delivers on their promise for bigger performers. Will The Big Gig deliver now? That’s the pressure now. They’re promising a big year, and they’re going to work like hell to deliver it.
