T.J. Lang & Packers Not Communicating Means Nothing

Green Bay Packers offensive guard T.J. Lang is the most covered free agent on the Packers roster. The question about if the juice is worth the squeeze for Lang is the biggest question for the Green Bay’s offseason. There’s no doubt about it. Ted Thompson is a little hot under the collar but signing Lang doesn’t automatically fix things for this Packers team. Packers guard mentioned he hadn’t spoken with the team since the offseason. This is a growing problem with athletes in today’s day and age where they need to be updated on a consistent basis.
FA Guard @TJLang70: I've really enjoyed my time in GB & I've played my whole career there. I haven't heard a word from them yet. #Packers

Packers are still trying to figure out what they’re going to do with Lang and other free agents. Green Bay has until March 5th to pull the trigger on some sort of deal. But this isn’t Twitter. Lang will not get notifications with what Packers are thinking about a random Monday. But with how 2017 is where you can get notified about anything and everything at any single moment makes it more frustrating when Lang hears nothing. Compare it when you text a ton of friends or to a group chat about plans then hear nothing for three hours. I’m sure that’s how Lang feels at this point.
There’s reason to believe he will not be back, but it’s not a given. It would be presumptuous to assume things are done with the Packers and Eastern Michigan product. Sure, Thompson has a brand where he lets go of a player when he hits a certain age, and he’s landed on bingo for the most part. And I still stand by moving on from Casey Hayward, but from an optics perspective if Thompson lets Lang go, it’s going to be the same sort of shit storm.
We’re a couple weeks away from free agency so there’s no need to predict what might happen with Lang or any other free agents at this point.
