Star Ratings didn’t make an appearance on Friday morning. That’s on me. There wasn’t enough time on Thursday night. To replace it, we’re going to see how Green Bay is doing on all things offensive, defensive, special teams as well as look where they stand in the NFC North and NFC.

Offensive – Passing
Aaron Rodgers seemed to regain some of that lost swagger with over 300 yards against Chicago. When he fumbled the ball leading to Chicago’s only touchdown of the game, it seemed like something clicked in his head. Rodgers stopped screwing around and made things happen out there like he hasn’t all year. People will say ‘Well it’s Chicago’, but they are the 13th rated passing defense in DVOA. In the next two weeks, Rodgers will face some of the worst pass defenses in the league. Davante Adams’ emergence is something I could have seen coming all year. Ty Montgomery is making it harder for teams to lay back in coverage. Jordy Nelson is an issue, and some of the worries about him in August are starting to rear their head.

Offensive – Running
Not sure what Green Bay can do at this point. Montgomery had a couple nice bursts, but he’s still a wide receiver running the football. Don Jackson hurt his hand, and now, Green Bay will have Knile Davis take over part of the duty. We’ll see how he does in this system as Davis struggled in a similar system in Kansas City. My guess is he will get that start on Sunday.

Defensive – Running
The thought of Green Bay’s run d being ‘overrated’ was overrated in that. They shut down Jordan Howard like Green Bay did every week but Dallas. Packers rush defense is still damn good. They just ran up against a great offensive line. Packers won’t see that most weeks. Mike Daniels leads that defense better than most people.

Defensive – Passing
As for a pass rush, it’s great. They have some mean rushers off the edge with Contract Year Nick Perry, Clay Matthews and Kyler Fackrell. But in the pass defense, it’s not good. Ladarius Gunter isn’t better just because he shut down Matt Barkley. This team needs Quinton Rollins and Damarious Randall back for Atlanta to at least try to slow down Julio Jones and company. Jones owned the Packers in their last meeting on a Monday Night at Lambeau.

Special Teams
It’s not perfect, but it’s not bad either. Seeing what Arizona did made me happy to have what Green Bay has out there. Trevor Davis is going to break a return later in the year, and I’m more inclined to see Jeff Janis on kickoffs versus Davis if he’s the starter.

NFC North
Much better than they were before the day started. Green Bay is only one game out of first place with Vikings owning the tiebreaker. Lions have become suddenly scary, but are we sure they are a playoff contender with all their wins recently coming at home? I’m not ready to buy in. Bears are thankful the Cubs exist.

NFC
There’s no real favorite in the NFC right now. It’s wide open without a team looking like they’ll emerge as the NFC’s representative. Green Bay is one of the Wild Card participants, but it’s so early. The matchup would be against their opponent on next Sunday, Atlanta.
