Taylor Twellman Freaks Out About US Soccer

United States Soccer is waking up to the criticism for missing the World Cup for 2018 after losing to Trindad and Tobago in a shocking loss where they fell 2-1. There was a 1-in-27 chance that the United State would miss the World Cup, and it actually happened. ESPN’s Taylor Twellman went absolutely OFF on literally everything that involves soccer. This is an enjoyable rant that has a couple drops that we’ll steal for the podcast.

Twellman has some major points here. I love the whole attitude of not making any excuses for what’s going on. There are going to be so many bad takes out of this. People are going to say ‘Well maybe it’s a good thing the US doesn’t have a team representing under Trump’ because everything goes back to Trump. You’re going to have the non-soccer hardos enjoy their moment in the sun as well today. It needs to start all over for United States soccer. Twellman said it as much, but they need to find out what’s wrong with this sport and start growing it locally in America.
It’s fascinating to see what comes next from this whole thing. I doubt US Soccer can stand still here. There’s no one that’s going to lay down and keep things the way it’s going at this point. There will be a way to rebuild this soccer program and make them better than they’ve ever been before. Next summer will not be the same watching the World Cup without the United States there.
