The Challenge Power Rankings Wk 3: Cory Continues Hot Start

If you’re wondering why we skipped Week 2, here’s why – I don’t like to be confused. This is Week 3 of the show, therefore it’s week 3 of the Power Rankings. We have to take the preseason rankings as Week 1. I tend to screw this up more often than not. After two strong episodes, let’s see how everyone is ranked. There are some big movers this week like Cory and Jenny.
TOP CONTENDERS
1. Jordan (LW: 1)
2. Ashley (LW: 2)
3. CT (LW: 3)
4. Rogan (LW: 4)
5. Wes (LW: 5)
Thoughts: There is nothing that changed about the top five. None of them played a big role last week, so there is no need to shake up the apple cart with these five people. No one in the second tier made a strong enough move to be considered on the top tier. The only thing I’ll add is Jordan did not handle losing in the championship round well. He needs to keep his composure out there as a top dog.
CONTENDERS WITH A FLAW
6. Jenny (LW 19)
7. Johnny Bananas (LW:7)
8. Tori (LW:6)
9. Cory (LW 17)
10. Nany (LW:8)
11. Fessy (LW 13)
12. Jenna (LW 10)
13. Mattie (LW 13)
14. Dee (LW 9)
Thoughts: This list moved a bit here. First, you have Bananas and Tori swapping spots. I didn’t like how Tori begged to be in the elimination round. That desperation can cost you in the late in the game. Cory makes a big move after impressing for a second straight week. He was awesome in the challenge and deserves credit for his strong start. This is his MO though. He is like the pre-Josh Allen Bills where they would start hot and fizzle out at some point. Jenny is another strong week away from being put into the top contender bucket.
COULD CONTEND IF THINGS GO PERFECTLY
15. Nelson (LW 14)
16. Kaliah (LW 13)
17. Kyle (LW 15)
18. Bear (LW 16)
19. Kaycee (LW: 18)
19. Melissa (LW 23)
20: Jay (LW: 20)
Thoughts: Most of this movement had to do with people moving up early on like Jenny and Cory. Nelson and Kailah take a step back. Both are not doing much early on this season, nor have won anything. Melissa moves up after winning a Challenge. I likely did not slot her in the correct spot. 19 feels right at this point.
NOT A THREAT TO CONTEND
21. Swaggy C (LW: 27)
22. Josh (LW 22)
23. Aneesa (LW 25)
24. Bayleigh (LW: 25)
25. Big T (LW: 23)
Thoughts: Josh is still an oaf. Swaggy C doesn’t do enough to be in the next tier of guys despite winning last week’s Challenge. We’ll see what happens tonight because I could see him being at the top of the list of guys to be on the chopping block. Big T confuses me on why she’s here.
