Giannis Antetokounmpo celebrated his first Father’s Day on Sunday. I have to imagine that the first Father’s Day is pretty damn cool. It has always been a day where you’re celebrating your dad, and now, you get to be the one who is celebrated. Antetokounmpo shared a picture of him with his son, Liam, who is starting to grow some hair and said they had a great day together. It makes you smile in the midst of all the bad news.

There are a lot of negatives about basketball being on pause for multiple months, but you want to know a positive for Giannis? He got to spend an inordinate amount of his time with his newborn baby. That is so cool. So many athletes do not see their children grow up in the same way that other people do. This has to be a rewarding part of the layoff for Giannis and any other new dads in the NBA, MLB, or NHL. I’m sure this day is a bit tough for Giannis too with his dad not being there but I’m sure he is looking down on his son beaming with pride.
