Tony Snell Wins the Bucks Free Throw Belt

Through 22 games of the season, there are a lot of moments in this Bucks season where things feel different than last season. Obviously, they are mostly on the court, but sometimes, you see things that you just didn’t see with the old regime. Take Monday at Bucks practice for a perfect example. Bucks are coming off a tough loss to New York. Things might start to feel a little tight with a big week upcoming facing Detroit, Golden State and Toronto, yet, what does the team do? Play a free throw contest that’s been a month long with a bracket and a WWE title belt. Tony Snell won the contest over Malcolm Brogdon.

This is so cool to me. Why? This is the type of thing that builds chemistry and comradery around the team. After Jason Kidd left, we heard stories about how the practices were brutal at times with Kidd calling out players in film session and making things so professional-like. This is more of a high school or college thing but it gives the players some excitement in practice plus competitiveness. Who knows when this contest might come into play when a player needs to make a clutch free throw?
Congrats to Snell, and I look forward to who wins next month’s contest.
Charlie.
