Travis Shaw Would Like Everyone to C-H-I-L-L

Milwaukee Brewers fanbase is frustrated. I don’t blame them. The Brewers scored a grand total of two runs this weekend. Two! In four games against the hated Chicago Cubs who swept them right out of Wrigley. Milwaukee is now 1-6 this season against Chicago, and you’re starting to get the vibe that this Brewers team will never be able to compete at that same level. Travis Shaw, the Brewers third baseman, had some words for the fans after the game, and he echoed Green Bay Packers’ star quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
I’m not gonna steal @AaronRodgers12 “relax” so I’ll just go with.. “C…H…I…L…L” 😎

In a way, Shaw is right. Milwaukee will finish with an above .500 April for the first time since 2014 no matter what happens tonight in Cincinnati. It’s a long season with many games against the Cubs and other teams still left to be played. The season isn’t decided in April barring a massive hot or cold streak from a team. The NL Central is going to be a fight all year. Chicago may get swept by St. Louis or the surprising Pittsburgh Pirates at some point in the year. Pirates lead a bunched division where Milwaukee is currently fourth but only 1.5 games behind the Pirates with a +5 run differential. On the larger scale, the Brewers are completely fine.
The worry comes from the fact Chicago appears to be in the offense’s head a little bit. Brewers are looking to be these mashers against near elite pitchers, and it’s not working. They have to find a way to manufacture runs against top tier pitching. It’s been a problem early on for this team. No one will respect what Milwaukee is doing until they show it against some of the better teams in the leagues.
I appreciate Shaw being a calming influence and let’s not lose five straight tonight.
Charlie.
