Warriors Nightlife Comments Are Extremely Overblown

Golden State Warriors and Utah Jazz get set to play against each other in the Western Conference Semifinals tonight at Oracle Arena in Oakland, California. Warriors and Jazz do not really have a rivalry, but they both play hard as hell where you could see a team like Utah annoying the two-time Western Conference champions. Golden State did not want to play them, rather, they wanted Los Angeles because the ‘nightlife options are better.’ People took that as a bad thing. I, myself, as a human, took it was a normal thing that media shouldn’t be putting too much stock in.
When you’re traveling for work, where you want to go Salt Lake City or Los Angeles? That’s an easy answer, right? That’s basically the start and end of the discussion for Warriors. They are looking for stuff to do on days off and nights they’re not playing. It’s not saying that this team is going to be wasted on TMZ if in LA or partying like it isn’t a thing. These guys are humans and want things to do when they’re not playing basketball. Los Angeles provides a wide variety options when Salt Lake City does not at all.
Jazz might see it as disrespect which I’m okay. Utah should use any ounce of motivation against this Golden State team. I do think part of these comments were really ‘We knew the Clippers series would end in 4 or 5. Now, we have a dogfight on our hands with Utah.’ Jazz are a team that could be a top four team in the Western Conference for years to come, so this year might be a little early for them, but they’ll be arriving very shortly.
Sometimes when stories come out like this, we need to remember these guys are humans too.
Charlie.
