What The Hell Was Giannis & Thanasis Doing In Syracuse On Saturday?!

Giannis Antetokounmpo and his brother Thanasis made a special trip on Saturday. They ended up in Syracuse, New York, for the Syracuse-Wake Forest game. They were invited by Adam Weitsman, who is a Syracuse super fan. Weitsman owns a scrap metal place in central New York plus he is big into crypto and NFTs. If you dig into this a little more, he is not beloved by the Syracuse faithful. Many have trepidations about his intentions with the program. From my 1,000 mile view, it seems like a big-time booster that loves being out in the spotlight which is pretty common. The Antetokounmpos took in the sight and sounds of the game, and Giannis provided a great post-game speech to the team.

If the Bucks had not won the championship or if people still weren’t obsessed with Aaron Rodgers and the NFL, Giannis would likely be getting killed today for doing this on his off day with a game the next day. He came back to Milwaukee and got absolutely dummied by the Denver Nuggets losing 136-100. A part of me is a little uneasy about it (Blame it on me being old school), but I guess I ask this, would you rather have Giannis do this or be out until 3:00a at Lucid with bottle service? My vote would be for the former. Yeah, the travel is a lot but it’s a private jet with plenty of time to sleep. I don’t think Giannis staying home would have stopped the Nuggets from making 20 threes.
Charlie.
