Wisconsin’s Most Hated Thing? – Trap Music

Are Wisconsin full of haters? Depends on who and when you ask that question. I feel like during Packers season, people hate everything and are never satisfied with results. Packers could win 38-3, and a couple fans would figure out something Mike McCarthy did that pissed them off. When the ‘Most hated’ list came out yesterday, the Packers were not involved. Rather, Trap music took the cake. Can’t say I disagree with my fellow Wisconsinites.
Above is a sampling of trap music to give you an idea of what we’re talking about here in 2017. While the EDM artists are still using the same type of beats that hip-hop did years ago, it’s a different style. People describe the beats as ‘aggressive, dirty and dark’ with ‘dark melodies.’It’s another version of dubstep, but it didn’t really catch on in the mainstream like other EDM has in the past few years. Only real big one was ‘Harlem Shake’ which became an Internet sensation. Maybe people do the shake too much and that’s what led to hatred in Wisconsin? Hell, ‘Harlem Shake’ might be still popular in some parts of rural Wisconsin where trends come in few years late.
While trap music isn’t my jam, I can see how others could get down especially with the up-tempo style makes you feel like it belongs at a gym somewhere while your trainer is barking orders. Although, it seems Wisconsin has had enough of it.
