This was not a weekend to be quiet on the blog posts. I apologize for that, but I took myself a trip up north with the lady friend and was away from the action for the whole weekend. I did my best to keep myself updated, but I couldn’t provide any blog posts to you. I’m hoping to change that. Officially, I’m announcing that I’ll be looking for someone else to help out with SnoTap when I get busy. If you know someone, email me at snotap12@gmail.com or slid into my DM’s. I’ll be sending out an official Craiglist post this week. The WSW will likely not be a thing, but let’s roll with it. If you’re not familiar with the WSW, it’s the Wisconsin Sports Weekend.

The Great
Packers come through with a kickass outing against the Bears – Great win for the Green Bay Packers. They are now 3-1. Packers dominated the game from start to finish. Aaron Rodgers had an extremely efficient ballgame, and Mike McCarthy called himself a beauty of a game. Mike Glennon showed how truly bad he was away from Soldier Field, and Chicago continues to be miles away from Green Bay. Now, the team faces an important stretch where they play at Dallas and Minnesota in back-to-back weeks.

Badgers take control versus Northwestern – I’ll be writing the usual Badgers Musings later today so look for that.

Average
Packers weekly injuries… Not that bad (Maybe?) – Green Bay suffered a few injuries on Thursday night like most games we see with the home team. Ty Montgomery went down early with a rib injury. First, they reported it was broken ribs, which is a multiple week injury usually, but they think Green Bay might have him next week for Dallas. Jamaal Williams went down with an injury as well, but they don’t think his knee should be that much of an issue. The other significant blow happened when Davante Adams received a vicious hit from Danny Trevathan which resulted in him getting carried off on a stretcher. Thankfully, Adams only had a concussion. Not sure if he’ll play versus Dallas, but it doesn’t seem like a long-term injury.

Packers arm united did not result in fan support – All eyes were on the national anthem when Packers players asked for unity with the fans locking arms together. That did not happen. The players united together, but the fans enjoyed cheering for the American flag and chanting U-S-A. In a way, this was perfect. Everyone did their own thing and expressed their own way to celebrate the anthem.

The Heartbreak
Milwaukee Brewers lose the Wild Card in terrible fashion – Heading home from Door County, Brewers started to get warm with a six-run third inning. Craig Counsell looked like he pulled another rabbit out of his hat by starting Junior Guerra for the game as Milwaukee’s Opening Day starter struck out four through two innings. Unfortunately for Counsell and the Brewers, Guerra turned back into a pumpkin allowing four runs in the bottom third. Milwaukee’s bullpen did everything they could to ensure the team would survive, but the hitters did not help them as the Crew left eight on base in four innings. Milwaukee never got the big hit. More on the Crew as the week goes on this week. Tough way to close it out, but hell of a fucking season.

Prayers up to Giannis
Last thing, prayers to Giannis Antetokounmpo for losing his father over the weekend due to a heart attack on Friday night. This is such a sad story. If anyone knows the story of Giannis, his family is a major part of who he is as a person, more than most people in sports. This is a massive loss for him. We haven’t heard from Giannis, and he’s not playing tonight when the Bucks kick off their preseason slate.
