Xavier’s Slipper Still Fits & Marches To Elite 8

What to make of a low seed high major team? They’re not technically a Cinderella, but at the same time, this is completely unexpected. We remember what Syracuse did last season, and this is a little similar to what we saw there. Musketeers go on a late run to advance to their first Elite Eight since 2008 as this team figured out to play without their star point guard, and they’re looking very dangerous. They’ll take on Gonzaga, and one of these teams will end up in their first Final Four. I guarantee that will be a great game on Saturday.
I’m all in on team unity things. The #FootballGuy move by Chris Mack to have their ashes of the February opponents is fucking awesome. The fact Marquette beat this team twice and handily in both blows my goddamn mind. Trevon Blueitt is a bad man. As for Arizona, it’s another year filled with a collapse. Sean Miller fails to get a Final Four with a great team. Arizona was rolling heading into this NCAA Tournament, yet the team couldn’t get Lauri Markkanen the ball in the final 11 minutes.
Couple other thoughts
-Gonzaga is tough. They won that game with some of the worst performances from all their players including Nigel Williams-Goss. They’re the real deal, and the stage is set for them.
– Kansas looks like the best team in the tournament. They dismantle two good teams in the last two games, and now play an Oregon team who is somewhat like Xavier as they’ve figured out how to play with one of their star players.
