Brewers Going in on J.A. Happ?

Brewers trade deadline news is churning at an all-time high. Rumors are flying around about different players and talent. There are strong rumors around the Minnesota Twins players, but the latest news has come around J.A. Happ, the Toronto Blue Jays left-hander. Happ is a free agent at the end of this season. The price will not be too high for a guy like Happ. There are many teams going after him at the moment like the New York Yankees and the Chicago Cubs.
The Milwaukee #Brewers realize the urgency to land a starter and J.A. Happ is a perfect fit, particularly going from the AL East to the NL Central, but #Yankees loom as biggest threat to intercept their plans, with #Cubs also in mix

Is Happ really the ‘perfect fit?’ I’m unsure on that. I do think Bob Nightengale makes a good point about going from the American League East to the National League Central. Happ’s stats should probably be looked in a vacuum considering how good the AL East has been this season. The price for Happ might only be a player like Domingo Santana. Originally, I did not like the idea of dealing Santana for Happ, but as I’ve thought about it more, it’s a fine deal. Santana is too inconsistent with his power and average to really trust he’s going to be the player he was again in 2017. He’s expendable at this point in my eyes.
We’ll see if the Brewers can get something done.
Charlie.
