Camp Randall Should Be Rowdier Than Ever If The Students Decide to Care

Camp Randall Stadium will be welcoming fans for the first time in over two years. We saw full houses all over the college football world last night. The crowd at Huntington Bank Stadium (Formerly TCF Bank) for Ohio State-Minnesota was an electric factory. Badgers fans will be headed to Camp Randall for an 11 AM start thanks to Big Noon Saturday on FOX. While it’s not ideal from a start time, the hope is that the students are going to show up. In years past that has been a big ask especially for early games like this one. It’s not surprising that Wisconsin’s quarterback made the plea to get there on time.

I hate to sound like an old man about this shit. But this matters at least this week. Other weeks where you’re playing an inferior opponent, sure wait until the second quarter. Have a few more beers. Still, I never understood this concept even when I was in college. I remember going to an Iowa-Minnesota game with my buddy Josh. The start time was 11a. We got up early, had a few drinks, but had to be at the stadium by 10:30a to get a good seat. By kickoff, it was full. Even if you care more about drinking, you have the rest of the fucking day. The buzz might be slightly off by the end of the game, but there is plenty of time to turn it back on.
Let’s hope for a packed house in Camp Randall to start off the new season.
Charlie.
