My roommate is a Cubs fan and before leaving my apartment, I wished him “Good luck.” He said, “Thanks, I don’t want to this end tonight.” Him and other Cubs fans will get to have Game 6 on Tuesday night in Cleveland as Cubs look to be the first World Series since the 1985 Kansas City Royals to comeback from a 3-1 deficit. Chicago will have to do it on the road, but they have a pitcher advantage in Game 6 plus a major bat returns to their order on Tuesday. Why should baseball end in October? Let’s get nuts for two more nights maybe.

John Smoltz has been one of the best things about MLB postseason, and he said before the fourth inning, “This needs to be Chicago’s inning with the heart of the order up and (Trevor) Bauer’s last inning of work.” Sure enough, Kris Bryant hits a massive home run to tie the game, and Anthony Rizzo, Ben Zobrist both follow up with hits. Addison Russell and David Ross would be pick up both runners to make it a 3-1. Despite some scary moments, Chicago held on to the 3-2 victory.

Alrodis Chapman deserves a ton of credit for the way he finished the game. The ultimate villain in the World Series could have got fitting justice in the eighth or the ninth, but that wasn’t the case. Chapman came with the flame thrower tonight, and Cleveland couldn’t keep up. If one positive of the 7-2 blowout on Saturday was having a fresh Chapman to nearly go three innings.

Game 6 World Series games are historically weird so buckle up for Tuesday night… Carlton Fisk’s home run, Bill Buckner, David Freese’s walkoff, Angels late rally, Joe Carter, Kirby Puckett, Don Dekinger have all happened in Game 6’s. Don’t be surprised if Tuesday’s chapter is the wildest one yet.
