John Kuhn is a Packers legend. He is also an Eau Claire legend, but that’s another story for another time. Kuhn has always been good friends with Aaron Rodgers. He is in the circle of trust. That circle includes guys like Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb, David Bakhtiari, Tom Crabtree, and a few others. Kuhn is in that brotherhood. He appeared on CBS Sports Radio and talked with Zach Gelb about Rodgers’ future. The Packers’ fullback said he talked to Rodgers this week and finally, we saw some clarity on the entire situation.

Rodgers doesn’t want to get the ‘Packers treatment.’ The treatment of letting a guy go when it’s time. Rodgers wants to ride out in the sunset and do it differently than so many other Packers’ players. Rodgers likely got his feelings hurt with the Jordan Love pick, and Aaron likely assumede that he was going to end up like every other Packer. We already know Rodgers didn’t leak the story. And now, it seems like these two sides were trying to hammer out a compromise. Then the San Francisco 49ers shook the apple tree and all hell broke loose.

Some could ask, ‘What’s taking so long?’ Well, it could what to do about Jordan Love. He’s a one-year player with no in-game experience. Trying to trade him might be more difficult than you think and have the ability to get fair market value for him. Or it could be asking Rodgers ‘What if this MVP is a flash in the pan, can we discuss the timeline changing?’ Who knows.

But this is the first good news we’ve gotten in a while on Rodgers and I’m going to bathe it in.
