Packers Have Two Of The Top-Graded PFF Rookies On Both Sides of the Ball

It’s very early in the NFL season. We’re two weeks in. People are already rushing to judgment on so many times. MVP races, Super Bowl contenders, teams who might suck, and anything else. When you see certain stats or numbers, you take them a little less seriously, and not to the level of absolute fact. Through two games, the Green Bay Packers have the highest graded rookies at two positions. For the offensive line, there is not a rookie better than Josh Myers so far. The same can be said about the cornerback position with Eric Stokes.

Myers is an already established starter for Green Bay. They wanted him to start Day 1 on this team and he did exactly that. It’s impressive to watch Myers be able to guide the offense in the middle and not miss a beat at all. He hit the ground running with this offense and deserves a ton of credit for his performance so far.
Stokes just needs to start, period. It is about time that Stokes is the starter cornerback, not Kevin King. There is no reason for King to be out there in the starting rotation any longer. I know I’m beating a dead horse here, but it needs to be said until we have some resolution. Hopefully, Brian Gutekunst passed these stats down to the coaching staff encouraging more play from Stokes.
We’ll see what the rest of the Packers’ rookies do for the season, but so far, we’re off to a good start with the ones that were taken first. As always, we could be Minnesota instead.
